The RNC Day Two was a tremendous evening of recognition for those who serve – from firefighters to non-profit leaders, from Air Force pilots to former presidents to everyday volunteers. The stage was shared by many who choose to include service to country, community, and fellow citizen a part of their life.

The highlight for me might have been one simple line from the founder of a non-profit (whose name I didn’t catch) when he said, “Make service a way of life.” Indeed that’s what Senator McCain has done throughout his and what many others continue to do. But we need more folks involved whether for a year, a career, or after work during the week.

Senator McCain and Senator Obama will be sharing their views of this topic during their first joint appearance after the conventions at the ServiceNation Summit in New York City. The Senators will take the stage for a live televised forum on service the evening of the September 11. Please tune-in. And if you want to get involved, there is a national day of action as part of the ServiceNation Campaign on September 27. There are already 1,100 events registered to bring attention to the ideal and ethic of service in America.

If you want to get involved ServeNext will be organizing events and you can email us at info@servenext.org You can checkout www.ServiceNation.org for more info as well.
